A waterfall of about 60 m where the Taino River pours down a huge granite slab and a V-shaped valley. It is one of Yakushima's best-known falls and is seen from a viewpoint at some distance.

Getting there
About 49 min by car from Miyanoura Port, about 35 min from Yakushima Airport. Nearest bus stop Taino-kawa is a 60 min walk
Easier with a tour or car
Good to know
From the Mugio village road, take the forest road near the "Pontan-kan" shop (about 10 min by car); map apps may show the wrong spot. Parking and toilets (25 cars); the view from the lookout is a little distant. More impressive after rain.
